Why we blog (Review)

This is a short review of the article “Why we Blog” , by Bonnie A. Nardi, Diane J. Schiano, Michelle Gumbrecht, and Luke Swartz.

To be honest I found this a bit light weight in relation to how deep they actually looked at this, a fine article for somebody who’s new to blogging and maybe has a limited understanding of social media but beyond that nothing really insightful. It covers some motivations for blogging such as  a form of catharsis or as a way of developing ideas for one self. Its well written but if you are looking for meat and potatoes this aint for you.

Another article which I did feel had more meat on it and really looked at the social and psychological reasons for blogging was “Blogging at work and the Corporate Attention Economy“. I will be reviewing this in more detail at a later date, again as part of class work .
